David Overton, PA-C
David is a nationally certified Physician Assistant who provides integrated conventional and alternative medical care at Natural Medicines & Family Practice under the supervision of Dr. Richard Faiola, MD, ABFM.
Physician Assistants or PA’s are licensed to provide health care similar to MDs. PA’s work with MDs to handle:
• urgent care, check ups and physical exams • problem solving, education, counseling and referrals • order and interpret lab tests and x rays • write prescriptions • perform surgeries and many other services
Patients of all ages, children, men and women are welcome in our practice.
David is unique in that his training and treatment plans integrate whatever a patient needs to get better and support a healthier more productive life. David focuses on treating the causes of symptoms, not just suppressing symptoms or problems with drugs. He uses lab tests, x rays or scans and other evaluations to find and then treat the causes of your problems. Treatment plans typically include education on lifestyle changes, nutritional counseling, prescription drugs when indicated and then nutritional supplements, herbal medicines and other conventional or alternative treatments as needed.
David’s goals are always to control symptoms while promoting longevity. Promoting longevity means:
• symptoms are resolved or controlled • prevention of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, immune problems, diabetes, mental health problems and other common degenerative conditions • managing problems and disease optimally to prevent costly hospital admissions. • minimizing pharmaceutical drug use, side effects or costs • promoting a longer and better quality life
Most patients are used to “quick fix” approaches that don’t work well, such as “take this drug” or “take this supplement” to suppress symptoms. For chronic problems or prevention, it might take a little longer to find and treat the underlying causes, but the results are better in the long run.
